Mariah May Contract Update: AEW Wants To Keep Her, WWE Interested (AEW News)
Former AEW Women's Champion is in demand as WWE show growing interest in securing her services

Mariah May’s future in All Elite Wrestling remains uncertain, but fresh reports suggest that AEW is eager to retain her as WWE continue to show interest.
Per Fightful Select, she is not currently listed on WWE’s “internal incoming” list - a key indicator of talent expected to sign with the company. There is a belief that WWE would like to bring her in when the opportunity arises though. Additionally, while there were reportedly some individuals in WWE who may have opposed signing her in the past, those figures are no longer in positions of influence, meaning any roadblocks to a potential deal have been removed.
May is currently in a contract year with AEW, meaning her deal could expire sometime in 2025 unless an extension is triggered. AEW sources reportedly believe that Tony Khan may have included an option to extend her contract, though details on such a clause remain unclear. What is certain, however, is that AEW wants to keep May on its roster.
May has been a breakout star in AEW since debuting in November 2023 as a Toni Storm superfan-turned-protégé. Despite primarily serving as Storm’s enthusiastic assistant, she also impressed in the ring when given the opportunity, particularly during and following her violent heel turn on Storm. The pair had a critically acclaimed series of matches over 2024 and 2025, culminating in the grisly and incredible "Hollywood Ending" at Revolution. Given WWE’s ongoing efforts to bolster its women’s division, it is no surprise that the company would be monitoring her contract situation closely.
For now, AEW remains focused on keeping May in the fold, but with her contract situation coming into focus, the battle for her services could become one of the more intriguing wrestling free-agent sagas in the coming months.
