With Marina Shafir nowadays a part of the Death Riders in AEW, the former MMA fighter has garnered plenty of praise from her good friend, Ronda Rousey.

Speaking to Yahoo Sports, Rousey talked about how much of a fan of Shafir's she is, praising Marina for the improvements she's made over the past few years and, as Ronda put it, "coming into her own in that space and feeling really confident and just becoming like a real f**king pro".

The former three-time WWE Women's Champion added:

"Going from being, like, 'How do I do an arm drag?', to being part of five-star matches and stuff like that, it's really great to see her just having so much joy with it and rising to the top level of the industry."

Not just did the Rowdy One have praise for her fellow Four Horsewoman, though, for she also has a lot of time for Jon Moxley, calling him the lifeblood of professional wrestling.

"I think so much has to do with Jon Moxley being the most incredibly human being ever. He is just so supportive, and so kind and so passionate. He's just so humble, and I feel like so much of that success stems from his talent, and not just his talent, but his willingness and passion to give back and to bring up everybody with him, and have his rising tide lift all of their boats. And I'm so grateful for him and the kind of friend that he's been to Marina."

Continuing on about wrestlers like Moxley, Ronda said:

"They're the real lifeblood of the industry, and I hope that continues and that it's encouraged, and that it's not, like, some cutthroat 'Me vs. You' kind of environment. It's the culture and the giving back to each other, and the constant hands helping each other up; that is what makes it continue to be great."

Ronda Rousey departed WWE shortly after SummerSlam 2023, though she briefly returned to the ring in late 2023 to team with Marina Shafir on three occasions - the third being under the ROH banner, where Rousey and Shafir picked up a win over Athena and Billie Starkz.

By all accounts, the iconic, inaugural UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship is done with pro wrestling, but, as is so often the case, never say never...
