Marty Scurll has officially parted ways with Ring of Honor.

Having at one point been one of the hottest free agents in the game, with both WWE and AEW showing significant interest in him, Scurll somewhat surprisingly opted to sign a multi-year deal with ROH in January 2020.

A big part of the reasoning for choosing Ring of Honor back then, was that the Brit was appointed as the company’s head booker in addition to his role as an in-ring, on-air talent.

While this is indeed major news, it’s maybe not all that surprising.

As the Speaking Out Movement came to the fore later in 2020, Scurll was named as taking advantage of an intoxicated fan. While he did not deny these allegations, the former ROH Television Champion stated that what took place was consensual.

Following this, ROH launched an internal investigation into the matter. Scurll then wasn’t used in a wrestling or creative capacity once the company resumed its taping schedule after its pandemic hiatus, and his details were quietly removed from the ROH website in October.

One has to wonder what is next for Marty Scurll, and just which promotions will now have any substantial interest in bringing in the head of Villain Enterprises.
