Recent comments from wrestling legend Barry Windham suggested that his old US Express tag-team partner and brother-in-law Mike Rotunda had been placed in hospice care, but it seems those were wide of the mark. That'll come as a relief to fans who worried that the former IRS and WWE Hall Of Famer was about to leave us any second.

Mike's daughter Mika addressed the news by releasing her own public statement via Instagram. There, she revealed that her father is actually in a rehabilitation centre. She confirmed that Rotunda had suffered "a massive heart attack" on 20 September, and he was in a coma for a full week as a result. Now, the family is fully focused on Mike's recovery, but wish to thank everybody for their support.

In a touching moment, Mika also added: "Anyone who knows my dad knows that it's his strength, work ethic and athleticism that have carried him through not just this, but every challenge life has thrown his way. If there's one person I have faith in, it's Captain Mike".

Mika went on to say that both she and the family are "deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support from the wrestling world and our local communities". However, she has asked for some privacy whilst everyone battles for Mike's wellbeing and health.

Of course, the Rotunda family experienced real tragedy when Bray Wyatt died aged just 36 in August 2023. That shocked the entire wrestling world, and countless tributes have been made in honour of him since. WWE even introduced a new faction called The Wyatt Sicks that's led by Bray's brother Bo Dallas shortly afterwards.
