MJF's Double or Nothing status remains up in the air.

Following recent reports that MJF and Tony Khan have butted heads on certain issues, the Salt of the Earth's status for tonight's Double or Nothing PPV is now very much up in the air.

As first reported by Kiley Fuller of Bodyslam.net, MJF no showed yesterday's meet and greet event prior to today's huge PPV. This absence was not planned, was not part of any storyline, and AEW officials were unable to contact Friedman.

In an update to this, Fightful Select has confirmed that the three-time Diamond Ring winner is physically fine and that a flight out of Las Vegas was booked for MJF for last night. At this time, it's not known whether Friedman got on that flight, but if he did then obviously he will be missing tonight's Double of Nothing show that's due to take place from Vegas.

An AEW source told Fightful that they are "very unhappy" about how all of this played out, and the relationship between MJF and the company is said to be at an all-time low.

This comes on the back of Tony Khan being unhappy that MJF didn't seek company approval for a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, and there are prior issues between Khan and Max over the talent's current AEW contract and his pay when compared to other major stars of the promotion.

To clarify, MJF missing yesterday's fan event was not part of some elaborate story or merely a slice of character work from MJF 'the heel'. Instead, things clearly don't seem well between Friedman and All Elite Wrestling, and it now remains to be seen whether the charismatic star will indeed be a part of Double or Nothing for his much-hyped match against Wardlow.
