MVP Says He Is Done With WWE

Say goodbye to the former United States Champion.

It looks like former WWE United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter's brief and surprising comeback is already over.

MVP posted the following to Instagram a few hours ago:-

This makes sense, given Dave Meltzer's post-Royal Rumble report that MVP wouldn't be around long-term, but had agreed to work one or two more WWE dates after returning in at the pay-per-view.

MVP's Rumble run was brief. He entered the bout in the midst of Brock Lesnar's dominant monster run and immediately set his sights on Paul Heyman, before eventually getting inside the ring. 'The Beast Incarnate' had him over the top rope and out of the match 24 seconds later.

Sunday night saw MVP note that he hadn't returned for himself or the fans, but his son:-

At 46 years old, it looks like he's on the verge of putting his in-ring career in the rearview mirror. This brief comeback run was a nice way to cap his time in WWE. The match with Rey Mysterio on this week's Raw clearly meant a lot to him - and good on the company for finding a way to slot MVP into their plans as well.
