New Stipulation Added To WWE SummerSlam 2017 Main Event
Raw reveals what will happen if Brock Lesnar loses the Universal Title...
According to Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar will leave WWE should he lose the Universal Title at SummerSlam in a Fatal-4-Way also including Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe.
Heyman broke this news to Raw GM Kurt Angle during the opening segment on Monday's show, and the new stipulation has been tacked on to give the pay-per-view's main event some more hype. Expect WWE to hammer home the manager's point over the next few weeks.
This is all part of a storyline designed to make it look like WWE's decision-makers have it in for Lesnar and would like to see the reigning champion lose his title. Further, it could have some bearing on whether or not Brock accepts a challenge from UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones to make an MMA return.
Jones challenged Brock to do so after beating Daniel Cormier in the headline fight at UFC 214. Are WWE trying to set the scene for a Lesnar departure post-SummerSlam by adding in this stipulation? All signs suggest they are, although it's not impossible that WWE will swerve everyone by writing a Lesnar win either.
