New WWE Strategy For Major Event Announcements

WWE has been handling its PLE announcements a certain way lately. Here's why.

WWE is adopting a new, strategic approach when it comes to announcing premium live events, with the promotion keen to maximise buzz and seemingly make each one feel like an occasion in and of itself.

Fightful Select reports that this is why the market-leading wrestling promotion hasn't been announcing PLEs as far in advance as it used to. Economics, storylines, and audience growth have all factored into WWE's decisions on when to announce its supercards, with the company attempting to be as strategic as possible.

The outlet notes that WWE believes its individual PLE announcements allow each one to "have its own moment." WWE is happy with the approach, too, and satisfied with how its PLEs have played out in 2023.

Currently, WWE's PLE announcements tend to fit into one of a few categories: stadium events, international events, and shows relating to major storylines.
