If you've been paying attention to wrestling outside of WWE for the past few weeks, you've probably been hearing people raving about Tomohiro Ishii. And for good reason. One of the best strong style workers in the world, Ishii has had classic after classic against Hirooki Goto, Kota Ibushi, and Kenny Omega. He's due for a strong push in the coming months, including an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match against Kenny Omega. Of course, this recent rush of momentum came after years of silently being one of the best workers in the company, including a classic G1 match against Katsuyori Shibata in 2013, and a handful of 5-star matches after that.

Previously, Ishii has quietly been the bedrock of CHAOS. Aside from Yano, Gedo, and Jado, the 'Stone Pitbull' is the last of the original group who split off from Great Bash Heel to align with Nakamura. For years, Ishii was working on the undercard taking the fall in tag matches. Whether this was due to his small stature or lack of promo presence (or both), it was still a grave injustice as fans now see.

However, the past is the past, and now, fans know Ishii for what he is: a tremendous wrestler deserving of one of the top spots in New Japan. Thanks to his efforts, no matter how much CHAOS changes, he will remain there as a reminder of what the group once was: the Kings of Strong Style.
