NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 3: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

12. EVIL Vs. Hangman Page (27 July)

Tomohrio Ishii Kota Ibushi
NJPW

Rating: ***1/2

Hangman Page turned 27 on the 27th, but EVIL wouldn’t exactly be living up to his name if he gave him a cake rather than another dispiriting loss in their competitive contest.

Defeat again didn’t reward Page’s plucky effort, but it was destined to be the Jay White match where overdue vindication for his cleaner approach would either propel or sink his prospects entirely. EVIL continued his unexpected charge ahead of an even greater test against Minoru Suzuki.
