NJPW G1 Climax 2018, Week 4: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
10. EVIL Vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi (2 August)
Rating: ***¼
He was one of last year's biggest breakout stars, but EVIL hasn't shone in the G1 Climax 28. This is likely down to injuries. 'The King Of Darkness' is working with an elbow and knee taped, and is operating at a noticeably slower pace on smaller shows like this, though he still delivered a fun encounter with the legendary Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Tana himself is likely riddled with injuries, and always saves his blow-out performances for bigger matches. He was never going to empty the tank against EVIL, but the clash was far from fully mailed in, with a competitive seesaw layout creating several momentum swings.
