NJPW G1 Climax 2019 Night 2 (July 13) - B BLOCK: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

2. Jon Moxley Vs. Taichi

Jon Moxley might be the best all-rounder in the world.

Currently dividing his time between New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling, the United States Champion has found reinvigorated form as hard boiled sh*tkicker alongside Young Lion cohort Shota Umino. Steering into the gimmickry of Taichi's usual bluster and bullsh*t, 'Mox' fought back after the Suzuki-gun member jumped him in the crowd before the contest even begun.

Going 7:36, the battle never stood a chance of wearing out its welcome, though Moxley's back looked to be smashed to pieces by a chairshot early doors thanks to his exquisite selling. Fuelled by his rage over what had otherwise been an impotent assault from Taichi, the former Shield man met his intensity by introducing a table into the battle before spiking him hard with a wicked Death Rider.

The entire battle was another spectacular showcase for Moxley - he's yet to put a foot wrong since his Best Of The Super Juniors Final debut, and feels even more like a heavy favourite to win than he was when the brackets were first announced.
