NXT Europe Expected To Launch Later In 2025 (WWE News)

WWE's new NXT Europe brand is imminent. Here's all the known details so far.

A fresh report from PWInsider Elite suggests that WWE plans to launch the long-rumoured NXT Europe brand before the end of 2025. News was rife about NXT Europe years ago whilst the now-defunct NXT UK show was on the air, but bosses scrapped that British brand in 2022 and solely concentrated on the core NXT operation over in the United States.

Now, it looks like Triple H and Shawn Michaels are finally ready to make moves on some more international expansion. PWInsider noted that WWE has spent significant time, money and effort scouting talent from the UK and in European territories. It's believed that NXT Europe will play a huge role in enhancing the company's international profile.

Word on NXT Europe went cold for a few years there, but that doesn't mean chiefs hadn't been quietly plotting something major. However, there's no word on exactly where NXT Europe would be based - Germany? France? Spain? It could be anywhere.

This is all very exciting, if nothing else. It could open doors towards WWE's core NXT brand or main roster tentpoles like Raw and SmackDown for some fledgling new stars who otherwise might not get a fair look in.

NXT Europe In The Same Mould As NXT UK?

NXT UK ran between 2016-2022 before being discontinued as part of a reshaped business strategy. Originally, it was more of an excuse for WWE to target independent groups like PROGRESS in London, England or ICW in Glasgow, Scotland. Both of those promotions had working relationships with the market leader; some thought they were hugely beneficial, whilst others pointed out that both lost some identity and spark as a result of jumping into bed with WWE.

WWE's UK show didn't become a weekly concern until 2018. That's when NXT UK launched properly as a standalone brand, but it was always on the periphery of the product for most casual viewers who almost exclusively stuck to Raw, SmackDown and (occasionally) NXT TakeOver specials instead.

Despite being lower on the scale of importance internally, NXT UK did birth new stars like Rhea Ripley and current AEW worker Toni Storm. The show gave both a platform to show what they could do, and they wouldn't look back en route to become top names.

NXT Europe could theoretically scratch the same itch its UK counterpart did. Triple H and Michaels would surely be interested in developing new stars and giving them the chance to work in front of live crowds in familiar places.

Stay tuned for more information on NXT Europe when it drops. It looks like it's coming before the end of the year.
