For several major reasons, many wrestling fans have pondered whether NXT could at some point move from its weekly Wednesday night slot on the USA Network – and now, there’s rumblings that just such a move could be imminently on the horizon.

As per the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, NXT is set to move to Tuesday nights as of 13 April. That date just so happens to be the Tuesday after WrestleMania 37.

Tying in with this, Dave Meltzer stated on Twitter how there have very much been discussions amongst WWE officials about switching NXT to Tuesday nights – although Meltzer made it clear that no decision had been made on this as of last week.

While some fans have called for NXT to move away from Wednesday nights to avoid competing with AEW Dynamite, another pivotal element in any such decision is the possibility that the NHL’s Wednesday Night Hockey broadcast may impact NXT retaining a Wednesday spot.

It’s worth noting that nothing has been officially announced regarding the weekly NXT show switching to a Tuesday, although Mat Men did add that a formal WWE statement on the matter should surface relatively soon. Until then, take this all with a pinch of salt.
