NXT Takeover: San Antonio Review - 6 Big Talking Points
2. Seth Rollins Sighting!
In the sort of mooted fantasy angle which seemed to make too much sense to actually occur, Seth Rollins rushed to the ring to the dropped jaws of the fans in attendance. They went nuts at the sight of main roster programming bleeding into the developmental brand in a choice moment of shared universe intrigue.
The commentary team shared their amazement, putting the angle over perfectly.
This was such stuff that modern day movie franchises are made of. It was thrilling to see WWE at last blur the lines. Rollins had acknowledged Triple H's NXT role on WWE TV - by asking Stephanie if she had planned on buying him some "NXT jammies" for Christmas - but there were no corny jokes about what wrestlers wear here, the likes of which render RAW so utterly lame.
Instead, he displayed fire by almost stumbling over his words in his desire to call out the Executive Vice President. The heat of the angle was doused when Triple H summoned a flank of security guards to remove him from the building - but the match, telegraphed what seems like years ago, needed something fresh to set the hype ablaze.
This was the way to go about it.
