One Iconic Moment For Every Year Of The Undertaker's WWE Career
17. 2004 - The Deadman Returns
... The Return of The Deadman.
At WrestleMania XX, in historic Madison Square Garden, Kane was scheduled to face his brother in a revenge match for his literal burial four months earlier.
In the lead-up to the bout, cryptic messages began appearing on WWE TV. They prophesied the return of something old, something dark, something... trench coat-y.
Kane continually denied that his brother would be returning, but the match was made on the promise that he would be at The Garden.
And, sure enough, he was.
Accompanied to the ring by Paul Bearer, who was also making his WWE return, The Undertaker made his slow walk to the ring flanked by torch-bearing druids.
For the first time in four years, the original Undertaker was back.
The following match was short with 'Taker going over his brother for his 11th win at 'Mania, but nobody cared about the in-ring action.
After years away from the gimmick, Mark Calaway donning the iconic hat and coat was a sight to behold for fans old and new alike. It not only resulted in a huge pop in the moment, but led to arguably the greatest and most consistent period of The Phenom's career.
