1991 was a very important year for The Undertaker.

This was the year that he was first paired with Paul Bearer and was the year of his first WrestleMania victory, starting a tradition that would continue for twenty-three years.

However, it was almost a year to the day after his debut where The Undertaker would etch his name into sports entertainment history.

'Taker's impressive rookie year had earned him a world championship match against Hulk Hogan at that year's Survivor Series.

Bucking a long-running trend, the big monster actually overcame The Hulkster when Ric Flair interfered on 'Taker's behalf. The Nature Boy slid a chair into the ring, allowing The Deadman to Tombstone Hogan onto it for the dirty win.

The Undertaker became just the thirteenth person in history to hold the most prestigious belt in wrestling, as well as the youngest at 25-years-old.

The good times weren't to last however, as 'Taker lost the title back to Hogan just two days later.

Despite his world title run being short-lived, Taker had now established himself as a top player and this wouldn't be the last time we would see him with gold around his waist.
