34. July 1998 | A Pathetic Triple H Story

This is more pathetic in a grim, funny way than secretive - provided you are able to laugh at Triple H.

Triple H thinks he’s something else, everybody knows that. A main event legend. A creative genius. A stand-up comedian as leader of D-Generation X. And, gauging by 2026, something more than even the best wrestling politician of all-time: the real deal who orbits the actual White House. He also fancies himself as a massive stud.

The gossip is that, in 2000, he killed the Triple H/Stephanie McMahon/Kurt Angle love triangle because he didn’t find it believable that Steph would ever in a million years go for the clean-cut Angle when the handsome badass Triple H was his competition. This makes a report from the July 13 Observer that much funnier.

In an Edmonton house show in July, a female fan stationed at ringside was rather taken with Marc Mero. Per a live report sent into Dave, the fan twice voluntarily flashed her breasts at Mero, who didn’t urge anybody to do that as part of his act. After the match was done, she pulled down her pants and mooned him. A few days later, in Vancouver, Triple H apparently spent his entire match against the Rock trying to get another female fan to do the same thing. Despite applying a lot of pressure, in a scene that scans as all kinds of ugly through a modern lens, he was only “successful” when she relented at the very end.

“Come on, get them out. I’m hotter than Mero, and I have a bigger dick!”
