One WWE Match You MUST Watch From Every Year 1984-2024

31. 1993 - Bret Hart Vs Doink & Jerry Lawler, SummerSlam

A masterclass of selling while on defence and offence, Bret Hart deserves kudos not just for his excellent work within the bodies of these matches but for how effectively he sold the mental and physical anguish he underwent.

Helping to further solidify Doink as an in-ring surprise package, Bret fought and won in anger and with a determination to get to Jerry Lawler as had been promised before the bell.

Having defeated the "court jester", Hart's rage overflowing to cost him the match against 'The King' was yet more evidence that 'The Hitman' was the jack-of-all-trades Vince McMahon's musclehead first choices could never be.
