One of the most-viewed matches in wrestling history and a totem of WWE at its bombastic best, Hulk Hogan's first title loss was as iconic as his maiden win.

The match was marginally better than their WrestleMania III contest despite being less epic in scale, carried as it was by the electrifying heat for one of the all-time bells-and-whistles exhibitions. As much an angle as a match - and Hogan's post-match histrionics are a key part of the presentation to put Ted Dibiase's con all the way over, it's perhaps the very pinnacle of nonsense Sports Entertainment theatre.
