Assuming the Deadline report that the film will focus on McMahon's rise to the WWE Championship in 1999 as a central plot of his film, his feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin will have to play at least some part.

He might not be from the right country, but the idea of Jason Statham in full flow as Stone Cold in the ring is just magical. He's trained as one of the most gifted martial artists in Hollywood's mainstream, so he knows how to sell moves, and he has the bald look and the intensity locked down.

He's also capable of the same off-kilter, barn-busting charm and is similarly rough-around-the-edges (or his best character performances are, at least), and there are few who could pull off the role better.
