With Vince McMahon surprising us all this week by bringing Eric Bischoff back into the fold and handing Paul Heyman a promotion, drastic measures are clearly being made to improve the WWE product and put a stop to the constant record low ratings that the promotion keeps on receiving.

For Bischoff and Heyman, they will be serving as Executive Director of SmackDown Live and Raw, respectively. The early reports on these appointments made it clear that both roles would be off-camera positions – obviously in addition to Heyman’s on-screen role as Brock Lesnar’s advocate – and that the former head honchos of WCW and ECW would not be given on-air positions of power.

In addition to having control of the creative direction of their shows, however, now there’s word that Eazy E and Paul. E may actually be involved in on-air positions after all.

Now more 205 Live? Aw man! Just when that show had been starting to knock it out of the park again...

While both Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman will ultimately answer to Vince McMahon, Vinny Mac is seemingly the only person directly above them on the food chain; meaning that hopefully Bischoff and Heyman will be afforded the chance to facilitate genuine change to a WWE product that has completely and utterly stagnated.

The deal to have Heyman oversee Raw was first talked about as far back as February, while talks with Bischoff only began this past month. Both men are expected to officially start their new roles towards the end of next month.
