Representing Brazil in the Mae Young Classic will likely be none other than 21 year old Taynara Melo. Melo took part in a WWE tryout in February 2016 and signed a developmental contract with the company some eight months later.

Before signing with WWE Melo was a professional model with a black belt in judo along with a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, another individual ticking WWE's desired boxes. Looks plus grappling experience multiplied by a willingness to learn often equals success in WWE.

The 2016 WWE Cruiserweight Classic was notable for utilising a number of NXT enhancement talents and giving them a platform to kick on in the eyes of the wider WWE audience.
