Predicting The Next 10 First-Time Champions In WWE

3. Austin Aries

Austin Aries and Neville have added some serious credibility to WWE's revamped cruiserweight division. In January the purple-tinted division seemed like a lost cause - but the King of the Cruiserweights and The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived have made all the difference.

Aries carries himself like a champion. If injury hadn't found its way to him in 2016 it is likely that A Double wouldn't feature on this list, with many critics predicting NXT gold was inevitably going to find its way to Austin Aries' waist. Aries has proved, since returning from injury, that he hasn't missed a step - and it feels like only a matter of time before Aries becomes a champion.

There is also a feeling that Austin Aries is going to outgrow the Cruiserweight division eventually, and it wouldn't be a big surprise to see the former TNA and ROH World Champion with the WWE Intercontinental Championship around his waist in the future.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
