Since being called up to the main Raw roster, Drew McIntyre has made a name for himself as Dolph Ziggler's personal bodyguard. While it may currently be a supporting role, he has ensured that we're still talking about him. From his interference in the Extreme Rules main event to his impressive victories over both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, 'The Scottish Psychopath' has made his presence felt on the upper midcard in a rather short space of time.
After McIntyre's first run with the company (as Vince McMahon's "chosen future World Champion") was so on-the-nose that his promised future never materialised, WWE has been wise to ease him in this time around, letting his successful stint in NXT and his supporting role in Ziggler's feuds do all the talking.
McIntyre is becoming more and more integral to WWE programming, as highlighted by his and Ziggler's recent Raw Tag Team Championships win, and that will continue as the weeks and months roll by.
When all is said and done, Vince McMahon's prophecy will come true and McIntyre will win gold. The Universal Championship is in his future and nobody, not even Ziggler, will be able to stop his ascension to the top.
