Predicting The Next 7 NXT Champions

2. Hideo Itami

Hideo Itami was so close to the mountain top before an unfortunate shoulder injury sent him tumbling right back down. One of the most exciting prospects in NXT history, he got off to a bit of a shaky start while learning the nuances between his former style and what the WWE expects, but was starting to pick up a big head of steam heading into what was supposed to be a triple threat match for the number one contendership before he was sidelined. Upon his return Itami should be able to pick up right where he left off by putting on great matches against the top tier of NXT competitors. Once he starts gaining traction against the upper mid carders of the brand it's only a matter of time until Hideo gets inserted back into the title hunt and what better way to do that than have him face off against his most recent rival Tyler Breeze? After Breeze avoids Itami for a while and even sneaks away with a cheap win or retains by disqualification, Itami will finally get his hands on the big gold X. Hideo should be a champion in the mold of Finn Balor or, hopefully, Apollo Crews by being a fighter who never backs down from a challenge. He should hold the belt until a heel turn by a certain American who wants to prove that it's him who is the Alpha of the group.
