Current Champion: Asuka
Who Will Hold It: Charlotte Flair
Asuka is, rather regrettably, a makeweight champion for WWE. She's never going to be the focal point of the women's division despite being one of the most credible workers on the roster, and she's certainly never going to get the spotlight someone like Charlotte Flair does.
Another Charlotte title reign is on the cards.
Yours truly doesn't think Flair will beat Asuka to get that though. No, Bianca Belair will either turn heel and hold the thing for a while first, or IYO SKY will cash in her Money In The Bank privileges on Asuka before being cut down by Charlotte. Yes, yes both scenarios are avoidable, but that doesn't mean for a second WWE won't contemplate them.
The promotion has a blind spot with Flair. It seems to view her as someone who can work with anybody in any role (heel or babyface), and that's simply not true. Is she good? Hell yes, of course. Is there demand for yet another title reign before the end of 2023? Not really.
