Predicting WrestleMania 35 Matches (One Year Out)
4. The Undertaker Vs. John Cena (Retirement Match)
Say what you will about The Undertaker's recent performances, but after three decades grinding his body to dust for our entertainment, he has more than earned a big "goodbye."
This should have come at WrestleMania 33. His jacket-folding ceremony was powerful, and leaving his trademark garb in the middle of the ring suggested he was finally done, but WWE undid this in New Orleans. For better or worse, 'The Deadman's' career continues.
We shouldn't expect him to compete beyond 'Mania 35, though, and next year's event would make a logical stage for his last stand. But the list of potential opponents isn't long. The likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and Braun Strowman will be occupied elsewhere. Randy Orton matches are now as entertaining as slow motion footage of a sloth's daily life. Kane? Every bit as washed as 'The Deadman.'
This leaves John Cena, who was squashed by 'Taker at 'Mania 34, and whose character should be desperate for another shot at 'The Phenom.' They could work a longer bout this time, though Undertaker's increasing physical limitations means anything about 12 minutes would be hard to watch.
