Will the cruiserweight division even be around come the end of 2018? If Enzo Amore had remained as champion, the chances of that were unlikely. Amore’s release has seen the entire 205 Live league experience a reboot, and it is all the better for it. There is a clear focus, and at least some of the shackles have been removed from the performers.

How long will WWE be able to maintain this quality? The optimist inside says that the purple show will become another NXT, and showcasing great wrestling will be just as important as storylines and characters. That same optimist believes that Roderick Strong will win the title at WrestleMania 34, before defending it in a series of competitive matches against Hideo Itami, Jack Gallagher, Buddy Murphy and the rest.

That may well happen, but the realist inside knows that the mucky fingers of main roster WWE will get involved sooner rather than later. Drake Maverick is a fantastic performer, but it is difficult to deny that he is best utilised with a microphone in hand instead of a championship. This ultimately means it is likely that the a run with the belt is in his future.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
