Predicting WWE's Top 10 Stars In 2020

7. Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura may also be a bit of a risky pick to become a top 10 star in 2020 due to a couple of different reasons. For starters, the company has a horrendous, embarrassing track record of pushing Asian wrestlers. From an artistic standpoint, it’s probably not a bad idea for Nakamura stay in NXT for a bit longer. You can imagine that Vince likely wouldn't know what the hell to do with him.

Also working against him is that he'll be 40 in four years. I know I just stated that’s not too old for Cena, but Cena didn’t work hard-hitting strong style matches in Japan for over a decade. That kind of abuse takes a huge toll on the body, and Nakamura may not age as well as the average wrestler. He could end up being too beat up to build around.

Then there's his English, which isn’t too strong, and could make Vince leery of putting in extended promo segments. But Nakamura's charisma translates over to every promotion and every country he’s been in. He brings an infectious excitement that few other wrestlers on the planet are able to duplicate.

But if things do work out for him, and he gets called up without a horrible push out of the gate, he should pretty easily become the biggest Asian star ever seen in WWE.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
