Predicting WWE WrestleMania 38 Nights 1 & 2 Cards
Night 2
7. Randy Orton Vs. Riddle
Another year, another high profile grudge match for WWE's resident Apex Predator.
What at first seemed like another waste of Randy Orton's talents a few months back upon being thrown together with the latest Monday night character to fall into "funny" goofball, has now blossomed into one of the most unexpectedly delightful aspects of an often gruelling Raw viewing experience.
The Viper's slow warming to Riddle over the last few months has made for increasingly heart-warming viewing and the two both possess the ability to pop a crowd with their emphatic RKO and tireless streams of offence, respectively. But it's been evident from day one that this is all leading to the moment where the ever-untrustworthy Orton will turn his back on the bushy tailed one-time NXT star.
Now, this match does come with the asterisk of WWE having to hold off on pulling the trigger on the split for a few months yet, something they've not had great form in as of late. But if they can successfully keep from extinguishing RK-Bro until, say, the Royal Rumble? Then Riddle having to tap into his inner strength and general badassery to overcome his dastardly former mentor would make for a compelling conclusion to a long-running arc.
Orton also seems to be relishing working with the Original Bro on-screen lately, so expect him to take things up a few notches and leave lazy Randall Keith at home should he get a 'Mania spotlight on the pair's dramatic ending.
