Predicting WWE WrestleMania 38 Nights 1 & 2 Cards
6. Rey & Dominik Mysterio Vs. Apollo & Austin Theory Vs. The Street Profits (Raw Tag Team Championships)
Much like the SmackDown version of the titles, the Raw Tag Team Championships have often found themselves in the position of afterthought come 'Mania time over the last few years. Outside of the previously noted 'Mania 33 Hardy Boyz return bout, do any other eye-catching contests over the belts spring to mind from the Grandest Stage? Don't you dare mention, Nicholas...
Raw has been handed the open goal of finally giving us the chance to see the father-son duo of Rey & Dominik Mysterio win a big one in front of a sell-out WrestleMania crowd, with the pair's blue brand coronation sadly being shuffled into the ThunderDome era. When it comes to who should be holding the titles heading into The Show of Shows, there are worse teams to strap than the frequently dynamic and charismatic team of The Street Profits at some point before then. Again, it's a little insane to think that Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins haven't actually earned a genuine 'Mania reception after two years of breathless in-ring work and on the mic fire.
And with Apollo lacking any real direction since dropping his Intercontinental Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura too, throwing him into an odd-couple with the selfie-obsessed pr*ck that is Austin Theory could produce some surreal promos at the very least. Also, the pair's frankly ridiculous athletic prowess would add another explosive element to a potentially thrilling three-way dance over the red gold.
Dom & Rey have got to be walking out with the belts, though, right?
