Predicting WWE WrestleMania 39 Cards 1 Year Out
7. Bron Breakker Vs Happy Corbin
Nestled as it is in a warm, post-WrestleMania glow, most of this article is fairly positive and optimistic about WWE delivering another fun ‘Mania weekend in 2023. We won’t be going entirely without cynicism, however, because it seems that every year some beloved babyface talent must sacrifice his WrestleMania moment to a deeply mid Happy Corbin snoozer.
In ring talents (and actual, current, title holding champions) like Ricochet and Finn Bálor found themselves unable to secure a spot at “The Grandaddy of Them All” but Corbin routinely gets to face the likes of Drew MacIntyre and Kurt Angle, with WWE seemingly rating him as a worthy opponent for an upper midcard babyface.
Meanwhile, Bron Breakker is clearly destined for big things and is main roster bound in the not too distant future. Yes, he’s the current NXT champion, but by putting his title victory on Monday Night Raw instead of Stand and Deliver, WWE couldn’t have made their intentions clearer.
The guy is a pushed project who combines a compelling meathead charisma with an explosive power game. So why wouldn’t WWE undermine his momentum with a slow, methodical, TV level Corbin match at the biggest show of the year?
