Predicting WWE's Champions At WrestleMania 34

9. Cruiserweight Champion - Ricochet

Ricochet Newcastle
Oli Sandler / The Ringside Perspective

It may be a bit of a wild card option, but I fully believe that Ricochet will be the man holding the WWE Cruiserweight Championship by the time WrestleMania 34 comes around. Yes, he isn't even with the promotion right now, but all signs seem to point to the only two-time Lucha Underground champion in history making the jump in the new year.

Enzo Amore is currently running 205 Live. This might seem like a desperate state of affairs, especially taking into account the work done in 2017 by former champ Neville, but there must be an end game. Enzo will see off the challenges of Kalisto, Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander and the rest before running into the Future of Flight.

Sticking Ricochet in the cruiserweight division might seem like a nightmare scenario, but there's no reason why the current PWG Champion can't reignite 205 Live. By having him debut at the Royal Rumble, answer an Enzo Open Challenge and utterly decimate the Certified G, WWE would be making a real statement of intent.

It may well be easier to build a division around a fighting babyface champion too. Allowing Ricochet (or whatever his WWE name might end up being) to defend the title in competitive matches on RAW and 205 Live is undoubtedly the best move the company can make.

That is if he signs with WWE, of course...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
