Projecting Raw's 7 New Cruiserweights' Long-Term WWE Career Prospects

Few wrestlers put-in the kind of work that Cedric Alexander did to make it to the Cruiserweight Classic. The former Ring of Honor wrestler shed an impressive 22lbs to make the tournament’s 205lb weight limit, and it paid-off spectacularly.
Alexander almost looks like a completely different wrestler. He was always impressive on the independent circuit, but dropping the weight has increased his all-round athleticism tenfold, and he proved it in his outrageously good CWC second round match with Kota Ibushi. Alexander is a well-rounded wrestler with a very complete skillset, and he’s just as comfortable on the mat as he is in the air. In terms of ability, he’s already one of the best in the company, and he’s still only 26 years old.
This should be the making of Cedric Alexander. Years of blasé booking had made him “just a guy” on ROH’s midcard, but he seems tailor-made for WWE success. His style is exciting and eye-catching without being unnecessarily risky, and he has the charisma and confidence to back it up.
It’s hard to think of anything holding Alexander back at this point. He’s exactly where he wants to be in his career, and should become a huge star if he continues on his current development curve. There are, however, two men who are slightly ahead of him at this point...
