Randy Orton: 5 Awesome Matches And 5 That Sucked

And 5 That Sucked...

5. Randy Orton Vs. Kane (WrestleMania XXVIII)

Finding out you're facing Kane at WrestleMania must be like drawing the short straw and being the one out of your friends going to a club who is the designated driver while all of your friends get to have a good time and party. Randy Orton would've looked around and seen Punk, Cena, Jericho, Taker, Rock and Triple H all having great matches and he got stuck with The Big Red Machine and that his match couldn't be anything more than average. The Devil's Favourite Demon has been a great character in WWE, but his matches, for the most part, leave a lot to be desired. At WrestleMania XXVIII, The Viper had to deal with being second on the card in a poorly built up match with Kane. It was a far cry from his heated and exciting match with CM Punk the year prior. The two stars wrestled for about ten minutes and the action was uninspired. I was in the stadium at the show and coming off Sheamus' shocking win over Daniel Bryan, the crowd were dead for this encounter. Randy tried his best throughout to get something out of Kane, but it just didn't work. A chokeslam from the second rope would end this miserable match after. Afterwards, Orton must've wondered who he'd p***ed off to end up in such a rubbish match at the biggest show of the year.
