6. Chris Benoit

For obvious reasons, it is impossible to look back at Chris Benoit’s career without bringing up the awful tragedy that ended his life and his crimes. I’m certainly not intelligent enough to do so objectively, so let’s keep this one brief.

Chris Benoit was a Horseman from 1995 until 1999 (in two incarnations). These were the years I discovered WCW properly, so it is difficult for me to think of the Horsemen without Benoit popping in.

An all-time elite worker with intensity that couldn’t be matched, Benoit the worker deserves this spot. Let’s leave it at that.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
