Before starting this I should make something clear; Dean Malenko is my all-time favourite professional wrestler. Even now as I go back and watch old Malenko matches, there is something different in each one, something unique. Sure, he wasn’t overflowing with the charisma and entertainment factors that many of his peers had, but if I was on a desert island with only one wrestler’s catalogue of matches to watch, with no hesitation I would want that catalogue to be Dean Malenko’s.

My overly nostalgic mind remembers Malenko as a Horseman, but it turns out he was only involved from September 1998 until May 1999. Still, Malenko fits the Horsemen bill perfectly. If anyone was a spiritual successor to one (or two) of the names upcoming on this list, it was Dean Malenko.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
