Okay, so Sid wasn’t what the Horsemen should be but at least he was a damn wrestler. Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael was an American Football player who won a Superbowl with Chicago Bears, which is as far as my research into American Football will go. After a brief stint as a commentator (along with his dog, Pepe), Mongo got involved in a feud with the Horsemen over Ric Flair’s advances on his wife, Debra. This all led to a match at the Great American Bash in 1996 between the team of Arn Anderson and Ric Flair and the team of Mongo and fellow NFL-person Kevin Greene. Of course, this is WCW, which meant that Mongo turned on Greene to join the Horsemen.

Mongo wasn’t always terrible, and would even go on to have a run with the United States title. It was his general uselessness however that would lead to the Horsemen being disbanded (something that seemed to happen every few years or so) in 1997. This would last barely a year, and Mongo was a Horsemen a second time round in 1998. Another year later, he was gone.

The only thing that stops Mongo being bottom of this list is te fact that he was Horseman when I watched WCW, so there’s an element of nostalgia to this.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
