Ranking All 12 WWE Champions Of The Decade (So Far)

3. Daniel Bryan

Another superstar who spent a lot less time with the belt than he deserved, Daniel Bryan will still be remembered as one of the defining champions of this era. His first two reigns were cut short for storyline reasons (although only one of these was strictly necessary), while the third was cruelly ended by injury. Bryan rode a wave of fanatical crowd support to his first WWE Championship, beating John Cena clean in the groundbreaking main event of SummerSlam 2013. He was then immediately defeated by Randy Orton, cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase with the help of Triple H. It was masterfully booked, teasing fans who desperately wanted to see their hero hold the belt he'd worked so hard for. After a confusing one-day reign (after which the title was vacated and eventually regained by Orton), Bryan finally had his moment in the sun, defeating both Randy and Batista in a raucously received main event at WrestleMania 30. Unfortunately injuries finally caught up with him, ending his third reign after just two months. Despite this, his time at the top will continue to live on as a key moment in WWE history.
