Ranking All 12 WWE Champions Of The Decade (So Far)

9. Sheamus

The first WWE Champion of the 2010s, Sheamus carried the belt into the new decade on the back of a lucky victory over Cena at Bragging Rights 2009. He again was fortunate to retain against Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble, after Cody Rhodes inadvertently cost his Legacy leader the match through interference. The Irishman was then quietly shuffled out of the main event scene at Elimination Chamber, a lost figure amidst the furore of Cena's big win and subsequent loss to Batista. He surprisingly captured the belt again in June, winning the main event of the Fatal 4-Way Pay Per View. Again, Sheamus was unable to legitimise his reign with a clean title defence on PPV, instead keeping the belt thanks to the constant interference of Wade Barrett's rebellious Nexus stable. Orton was able to end his three month reign at Night Of Champions. Sheamus edges slightly ahead of Del Rio in this list as he spent longer with the belt, although in truth, neither man's run at the top will be remembered very fondly. However, as the current holder of the Money In The Bank briefcase, he could soon find himself in possession of the title for a third time.
