8. The Miz

Like Sheamus and Del Rio before him, the Miz suffered from the WWE's tendency to book heel champions as lucky or cowardly. After cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase on a weakened Randy Orton, he only kept ahold of the belt due to a combination of blatant cheating, interference from protege Alex Riley, or sheer dumb luck. He would even have lost the belt to Jerry Lawler, were it not for the help of Michael Cole. On a positive note, his reign was of a decent length, stretching from November 2010 to May 2011. He even retained the title in the main event of WrestleMania 28, admittedly while being completely overshadowed by The Rock's interference. Eventually Miz dropped the title at Extreme Rules, eating a top rope Attitude Adjustiment from John Cena in the process. It remains his only WWE Championship reign.
