8. In Your House July 1995

The main event of the July 1995 In Your House was Diesel defending the WWF Championship against Psycho Sid in a lumberjack match, but it was almost an afterthought to the excellent storyline revolving around Jeff Jarrett. He defended the Intercontinental Championship against Shawn Michaels, who was beginning his first babyface run as a singles star. In addition, he would debut as a singer, giving a live performance of €œWith My Baby Tonight.€ The night began with the Roadie getting a big win over the 1-2-3 Kid with a top-rope piledriver, and then immediately doing a soundcheck for Jarrett€™s performance. He€™d end up doing the real singing for Jarrett€™s performance while Jarrett lip-synced (although this wasn€™t revealed for well over a year). This was supposed to start a program between Jarrett and the Roadie, but Jarrett took a leave of absence after the show. The match between Jarrett and HBK itself was one of the best of an admittedly down year for the WWF. They went over 20 minutes and showed just how good they both were in holding down the upper midcard of the show while the likes of Diesel, Mabel and Sid lumbered around the main event scene.
