Ranking All 20 WWE July PPVs - From Worst to Best

19. Battleground 2014

While not as bad as its 2013 predecessor, which was a glorified house show (with one good match), this past year€™s July PPV installment doesn€™t live up to any of the 19 previous extravaganzas. On paper, it looked to be a solid show, with the first one-on-one match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, a first time ever match between Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt, the Intercontinental Title up for grabs in a battle royal, a newly face-turned Jack Swagger standing up for America against Rusev, and Roman Reigns getting his first crack at the WWE Championship (before the crowd turned on him). Alas, what looked good on paper did not translate in execution. The anticipated Ambrose/Rollins match didn€™t happen, and was relegated to a brawl. The Miz won the title in the battle royal, which was a lame choice considering there were better options like Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, or even a then-pushed Bo Dallas. The main event was alright, but nothing too memorable. The best match on the show was the opening 2 out of 3 falls match between the Usos and the Wyatt Family.
