Ranking All 20 WWE September PPVs – From Worst To Best

11. Unforgiven 2005

We were only one month into the fans€™ backlash against John Cena, which started at Summerslam the month prior, but it wasn€™t pretty. Cena faced off against Kurt Angle in the main event, and the crowd was pretty anti-Cena and pro-Angle. It didn€™t help matters that the match ended in a disqualification, as it€™s never a good thing to send a crowd home disappointed. Shawn Michaels followed up his epic heel turn against Hulk Hogan by turning back babyface and feuding with Chris Masters of all people, and the creative team booked Masters in a 15+ minute match second to last on this show. However, two matches were big highlights on this show. The first was the opener where Ric Flair won the Intercontinental Title from Carlito. The pop for Flair€™s win was incredible, and Flair€™s post-match interview was off-the-charts ridiculous with him pulling women out of the audience to party with later that night. The other highlight was the cage match between Matt Hardy and Edge. At the time, their feud was still red hot, and the matches had some serious heat behind them.
