10. Unforgiven 2002

Much like Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker in 1997, the first match between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar in 2002 was never designed to settle anything, but rather build for the bigger match at the next Pay Per view in October. At least the main event ended with an incredible visual of Taker and Brock going head-first through the Unforgiven sign, but without a conclusive winner, the match felt disappointing out of context. On the other side, there was still some serious backlash against Triple H being handed a new World Championship (which probably was the point). Still, the fans were incredibly behind Rob Van Dam winning the title, as he beat Triple H in a tag team match on Raw and there was a big pop for it. However, the match between Van Dam and Triple H was used as a vehicle to turn Ric Flair heel for the first time since he returned to the WWE, and it sowed the seeds for the Evolution faction. There was some pretty good wrestling on this show, with the Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero vs. Edge matches being two standouts. The WWE was right in the middle of the Smackdown Six era, as these would be a sign of things to come over the fall (the other two members of the six, Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero, had a match on Sunday Night Heat before the Pay Per View aired).
