Ranking All 20 WWE September PPVs – From Worst To Best

5. Night Of Champions 2012

In the week following Jerry Lawler€™s heart attack, WWE fans were bolstered by the good news of Lawler€™s recovery, and were happy to see JBL return to the commentary booth after a 3-year absence from the WWE. Thankfully, JBL was able to call a great card. This show featured the beginning of Team Hell No€™s entertaining run as Tag Team Champions. Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio had another solid match in their underrated feud (from at least a wrestling sense). Also, Eve Torres, who was the top heel diva in the company, managed to finagle her way into a match with Layla after Kaitlyn was attacked (by her), and won the Diva€™s Championship. The real gem of this show as the main event, as CM Punk and John Cena have seemingly never had a bad match together. Punk antagonized the Boston crowd by wearing Yankee pinstripes on his tights, which was a fantastic touch. Like every other September Pay Per View, it seems, there was an inconclusive finish to the show, as both men€™s shoulders were pinned to the mat. Still though, up to that point, it was another fantastic chapter in a feud that ranks as one of each man€™s best.
