Ranking All 20 WWE September PPVs – From Worst To Best
4. Night Of Champions 2010
The John Cena vs. Nexus storyline hadnt completely gone to hell by the time September 2010 rolled around. Yes, the Nexus suffered a pretty bad defeat at Summerslam, but Wade Barrett was still being pushed as a legitimate threat to the WWE Championship. The main event featured a six pack challenge match (similar to Unforgiven 1999) that included the champion Sheamus, John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Chris Jericho and Barrett. It was star-studded and refreshing to see some new blood in the main event at the time, and Ortons WWE Championship win was a pleasant surprise as he had recently turned babyface for the first time in six years, and this turn was much more successful than his first turn. In addition, the 2010 edition of Night of Champions was the first milestone in Daniel Bryans WWE career as he defeated The Miz to win the United States Championship. It was a surprisingly well done storyline, as Bryan was Mizs rookie on NXT, and they never got along. Then John Cena bypassed Miz and selected Daniel Bryan to be on Team WWE at Summerslam, and Miz interfered to eliminate Bryan. The match between Miz and Bryan was great as well.
