It didn’t take long for the shine to rub off Braun Strowman’s big return to WWE.

The big man was released in June 2021 and returned in September 2022, initially targeting tag teams and feuding with Alpha Academy. He would step in it – as Braun is wont to do – when he took to Twitter after his Crown Jewel match against Omos and said the two behemoths got “47 *****” for their match and that “no one cares about all these floppy floppers” who bag groceries at Kroger.

The backlash was swift, and the giant would lost a 4-minute match to one of those “floppy floppers,” Ricochet, later in November. Since then, Braun has had only one televised match, the Miracle on 34th Street Fight alongside Ricochet against Imperium.

There’s no telling whether Strowman will get anything resembling a main event push in 2023, but his momentum definitely was stunted these last two months.
