This entry is being carried on the strength of Imperium’s leader, the current Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

We’ve all taken shots at WWE for their horrific misstep in renaming WALTER, but you can’t question the strength of his booking since being called up to the main roster. Plucking Giovanni Vinci from NXT and reuniting him with Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser was a really smart move, as Vinci wasn’t going to benefit from any additional “seasoning” in developmental and could fill out the faction nicely.

As a result, you’ve got a great heel stable with all the ingredients for success. Gunther is dominating as a secondary champion and could easily move up to challenge for a world title (once at least one of them is off Roman Reigns). And Kaiser and Vinci already have tasted tag team success in the WWE system.

As far as debuts go, this trio has certainly had a banner year.
